Shannon Kingsbury is a singer, songwriter, harpist and music educator based in Guelph Ontario. A graduate of Sheridan College’s Music Theatre Program, Shannon’s diverse performing career has included work on film soundtracks, stage and recording studio work, as well as writing and producing original community based shows. She has received critical praise for her debut release Luminocity, inspiring critics to write, Shannon has “a voice that is hard to turn away from” (Ontarion); her compositions are “inspired by music centuries old and modernized and recreated to be all her own” (Echo); “LuminoCity” is “a world-minded collection of folksy tales surrounded by harp… with poignant rhythms and excellent production… these songs play out like a living fairy tale” (Huffington Post). As an educator, Shannon has taught singing based music programs with many outstanding arts organizations and studios in the Guelph community since 2007, including: Musikgarten of Guelph, Guelph Contemporary Dance Festival’s Arts Explosion Camp, Creativity Greenhouse, JamSchool, Season Singers and Waterside Arts. Shannon holds certificates in Early Childhood Music, Orff, Voice and Music Theory from The Royal Conservatory of Music and Kodaly pedagogy through Wilfred Laurier University.
